She Did It

Jamie's Italian

For my 17th birthday, I had dinner at Jamie's Italian. I went to the outlet in Forum, Orchard. The restaurant had dim lighting which made the whole place really cozy. There were little momentos which I guess Jamie brought from London, adding a cute touch of home to the restaurant.

For starters, we ordered Pumpkin Soup. It was thick and creamy. At the same time, it was sweet and yet savoury.

We shared an Italian Steak and Fries, and a Margherita Pizza. The Steak was a sirlion topped with a little garlic butter served with some coleslaw and fries. Sadly, I couldn't choose how done I wanted it to be. I personally prefer my beef to be medium rare. The Margherita Pizza was a simple yet savoury dish. It had a tangy tomato sauce base with mozarella balls sprinkled liberally over it. The crust was chewy and crispy, the perfect combination. A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil was added too. I really enjoyed it.

To end off the evening, we ordered a molten chocolate praline pudding for dessert. There was a scoop of salted caramel ice cream to even out the bitterness of the chocolate cake. This was a very decadent dessert that also served as my birthday cake.

Overall, I would rate my experience there a 4/5.
